Monday Myth Debunkers: Everything is Virtual, So You Can Live Anywhere.

With 2021 looking like it’s mostly going to stick to virtual casting, this is a sentiment we’ve been hearing a lot.

“𝕀 π•₯π•™π•šπ•Ÿπ•œ 𝕀’𝕝𝕝 𝕛𝕦𝕀π•₯ π•žπ• π•§π•– π•₯𝕠 ___ π•€π•šπ•Ÿπ•”π•– 𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣π•ͺπ•₯π•™π•šπ•Ÿπ•˜ π•šπ•€ π• π•Ÿ π•₯𝕒𝕑𝕖 π•’π•Ÿπ•ͺ𝕨𝕒π•ͺ.”

Does it really matter, in these times, where you live?

Well, 𝘬π˜ͺ𝘯π˜₯𝘒.

Here’s the scoop.

While self taping/virtual casting IS going to be around for a while longer, your location is still important information.

Consider a few things:

Although most productions don’t require quarantine time anymore (only frequent testing), studios/production companies are allowed to implement additional protocols if they choose. This means the potential need to quarantine for 5-10 days prior to testing and shooting. And you won’t know the production’s protocols until you book the job.

TV works exceedingly fast. Especially episodic. And sometimes we need you to be ready for testing the DAY you book your job. Not in town? That could potentially present a problem with testing times before shooting. And that’s assuming you can leave at the drop of a hat.

π—•π—Όπ˜π˜π—Όπ—Ί 𝗹𝗢𝗻𝗲:

Living somewhere else (either temporarily or permanently) is probably OK… but it’s extremely important that you are open and honest with your reps. Don’t try to sneak one past them. They will find out at the least convenient time possible. 𝙏𝙧π™ͺ𝙨𝙩 π™ͺ𝙨.

Have an in-depth conversation with them. Let them know what you can and cannot do in terms of getting to a shooting location quickly.

And remember: being fully vaccinated (as of now) does not exempt you from any quarantine/testing protocols. And although we love hearing how you’ve received your #fauciouchi, there’s no need to add that information in your slate.
